- For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
- Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,
who daily bears our burdens. - Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness. - But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high. - He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
- Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy. - The Lord sends poverty and wealth;
he humbles and he exalts. - From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people. - At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said:
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
and naked I will depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised.” - Give us today our daily bread.
- So that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.
- Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever pleases him. - So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
- You, Lord, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my darkness into light. - When I fed them, they were satisfied;
when they were satisfied, they became proud;
then they forgot me. - Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
- I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land. - Yet you, Lord, are our Father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.Next verse!With image
