- The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
- But for us,
There is one God, the Father,
by whom all things were created,
and for whom we live.
And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ,
through whom all things were created,
and through whom we live. - Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.
- My child, listen to me and do as I say,
and you will have a long, good life. - The high and lofty one who lives in eternity,
the Holy One, says this:
“I live in the high and holy place
with those whose spirits are contrite and humble.
I restore the crushed spirit of the humble
and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.” - Now this is what the Lord says to the family of Israel:
“Come back to me and live!” - I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.
- You must be holy because I, the Lord, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own.
- But the Lord will redeem those who serve him.
No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. - Teach me your ways, O Lord,
that I may live according to your truth!
Grant me purity of heart,
so that I may honor you. - The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him. - You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
- That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
- I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live.
- God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him. - He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
- Joyful are people of integrity,
who follow the instructions of the Lord. - Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
- By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
- If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
- Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.
- For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.
- Look at the proud!
They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked.
But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. - All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.
