- All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
- The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
- For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
- The high and lofty one who lives in eternity,
the Holy One, says this:
“I live in the high and holy place

Grant me purity of heart,
so that I may honor you. - Now this is what the Lord says to the family of Israel:
“Come back to me and live!” - I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.
- My child, listen to me and do as I say,
and you will have a long, good life. - But the Lord will redeem those who serve him.
No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. - The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him. - God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him. - You must be holy because I, the Lord, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own.
- I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live.
- You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
- Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!” So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made.
- That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
- Joyful are people of integrity,
who follow the instructions of the Lord. - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
- For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!
- Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.
- Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.
- He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
- Look at the proud!
They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked.
But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. - By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
- If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
