- Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven,
for all his works are truth,
and his ways are justice;
and he is able to bring low
those who walk in pride. - The Almighty —we cannot find him;
he is great in power and justice,
and abundant righteousness he will not violate. - You who want to be justified by the law have cut yourselves off from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
- There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. So who, then, are you to judge your neighbor?
- “All things are lawful,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.
- The wicked borrow, and do not pay back,
but the righteous are generous and keep giving. - He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
- Do not swerve to the right or to the left;
turn your foot away from evil. - The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous. - Let the wicked forsake their way,
and the unrighteous their thoughts;
let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion!
Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem!
Lo, your king comes to you;
triumphant and victorious is he,
humble and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey. - Now, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care what you do, for there is no perversion of justice with the Lord our God, or partiality, or taking of bribes.
- And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment.
- Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
who do his commands;
seek righteousness, seek humility;
perhaps you may be hidden
on the day of the Lord's wrath. - Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
- Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace. With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.Next verse!With image
