- In the path of your judgments,
O Lord, we have placed hope;
your name and your renown
are the soul’s desire. - For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Turn, then, and live.
- Do not swerve to the right or to the left;
turn your foot away from evil. - The Almighty—we cannot find him;
he is great in power and justice,
and abundant righteousness he will not violate. - He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
- Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven,
for all his works are truth,
and his ways are justice;
he is able to bring low
those who walk in pride. - You who want to be reckoned as righteous by the law have cut yourselves off from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
- There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. So who, then, are you to judge your neighbor?
- The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous. - The wicked borrow and do not pay back,
but the righteous are generous and keep giving. - Let the wicked forsake their way
and the unrighteous their thoughts;
let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion!
Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you;
triumphant and victorious is he,
humble and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey. - Now, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care what you do, for there is no perversion of justice with the Lord our God or partiality or taking of bribes.
- And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment.
- Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land
who do his commands;
seek righteousness, seek humility;
perhaps you may be hidden
on the day of the Lord’s wrath. - Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
- Stand, therefore, and belt your waist with truth and put on the breastplate of righteousness and lace up your sandals in preparation for the gospel of peace. With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
- Surely there is no one on earth so righteous as to do good without ever sinning.
