- Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way. - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk blamelessly. - For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
- Then Peter began to speak to them: “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”
- Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - I have taught you the way of wisdom;
I have led you in the paths of uprightness. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
the mind of the wicked is of little worth. - Train children in the right way,
and when old, they will not stray. - Happy are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord. - Come to a sober and right mind, and sin no more; for some people have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I shall come out like gold.
My foot has held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have not turned aside. - Look at the proud!
Their spirit is not right in them,
but the righteous live by their faith. - No longer present your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.
- For the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true.
- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
- The hope of the righteous ends in gladness,
but the expectation of the wicked comes to nothing. - The Rock, his work is perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God, without deceit,
just and upright is he. - The memory of the righteous is a blessing,
but the name of the wicked will rot. - He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
- Guarding the paths of justice
and preserving the way of his faithful ones. - In the path of your judgments,
O Lord, we wait for you;
your name and your renown
are the soul's desire. - If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, and give heed to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will not bring upon you any of the diseases that I brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.
- Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Turn, then, and live.
- Let your eyes look directly forward,
and your gaze be straight before you.
