Chinese (traditional)- Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness. - The high and lofty one who lives in eternity,
the Holy One, says this:
“I live in the high and holy place
with those whose spirits are contrite and humble.
I restore the crushed spirit of the humble
and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.” - I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.
- Better to be patient than powerful;
better to have self-control than to conquer a city. - The one thing I ask of the Lord—
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
delighting in the Lord’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple. - Take care of any widow who has no one else to care for her.
- Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”
- No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.
- “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”
- How great you are, O Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!
- I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.
- For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
- So if your eye—even your good eye—causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
- And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.
- But the Lord will redeem those who serve him.
No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. - A newly married man must not be drafted into the army or be given any other official responsibilities. He must be free to spend one year at home, bringing happiness to the wife he has married.
- For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.
- Paul said, “John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.”
- A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
- He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber. - The very essence of your words is truth;
all your just regulations will stand forever. - Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.
“At last!” the man exclaimed.
“This one is bone from my bone,
and flesh from my flesh!
She will be called ‘woman,’
because she was taken from ‘man.’”
This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. - One should be kind to a fainting friend,
but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. - What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
- Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens!
May your glory shine over all the earth. But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.Next verse!With image
