Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about 'Ate'
- He was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
- Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing at all during those days, and when they were over, he was famished.
- I had eaten no rich food, no meat or wine had entered my mouth, and I had not anointed myself at all, for the full three weeks.
- And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And all ate and were filled. What was left over was gathered up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.
- Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.
- One sabbath he was going through the grainfields; and as they made their way his disciples began to pluck heads of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the sabbath?” And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need of food? He entered the house of God, when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and he gave some to his companions.” Then he said to them, “The sabbath was made for humankind, and not humankind for the sabbath; so the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath.”
- If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you.
- So God created humankind in his image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - Now John wore clothing of camel's hair with a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.
- A generous person will be enriched,
and one who gives water will get water. - Very truly, I tell you, servants are not greater than their master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them.
- A perverse person spreads strife,
and a whisperer separates close friends. - Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
- Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.
- But those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.
- But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated.
- And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever.
- No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.
- And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
- I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
- You shall be holy to me; for I the Lord am holy, and I have separated you from the other peoples to be mine.
- The vine withers,
the fig tree droops.
Pomegranate, palm, and apple—
all the trees of the field are dried up;
surely, joy withers away
among the people. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and put a new and right spirit within me. - One who forgives an affront fosters friendship,
but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend. - Of all that live in water you may eat these: whatever has fins and scales you may eat. And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are.Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory. Selah
