- “Even now,” declares the Lord,
“return to me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning.” - I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

- Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent,
and discerning if they hold their tongues. - You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident. - If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
- Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
- Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.
- There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called.
- Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
- But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
- So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
- Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
- And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.
