- My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God.
When shall I come and behold
the face of God? - But surely, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life. - See, I am coming soon; my reward is with me, to repay according to everyone's work.
- One thing I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
to live in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord,
and to inquire in his temple. - So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!

and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail.
So it is to be. Amen. - Even before a word is on my tongue,
O Lord, you know it completely. - The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus.”
- While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud a voice said, “This is my Son, the Beloved; with him I am well pleased; listen to him!”
- But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people.”
- So, if they say to you, ‘Look! He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look! He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
- Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.
- God said, “See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food.”
- Give heed to my reproof;
I will pour out my thoughts to you;
I will make my words known to you. - All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet:
“Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”
which means, “God is with us.” - The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, all that he has is in your power; only do not stretch out your hand against him!” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
- Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
- Father, I desire that those also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
- I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
