Chinese (traditional)- A man's pride shall bring him low:
but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. - But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
- While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
- For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.
- For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
- Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. - He coveteth greedily all the day long:
but the righteous giveth and spareth not. - And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. - The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious;
but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. - But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
- A wise son maketh a glad father:
but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. - Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
- A talebearer revealeth secrets:
but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. - My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
- The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
- For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.
- The hope of the righteous shall be gladness:
but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. - A fool hath no delight in understanding,
but that his heart may discover itself. - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
- Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge:
but he that hateth reproof is brutish. - The wicked worketh a deceitful work:
but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. - He that walketh uprightly walketh surely:
but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. - A wholesome tongue is a tree of life:
but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. - What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
- A fool despiseth his father's instruction:
but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.Turn you at my reproof:
behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you,
I will make known my words unto you. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.Next verse! With image
