Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about 'Desire'
- Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you. - May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed. - Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws,
we wait for you;
your name and renown
are the desire of our hearts. - But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
- Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. - I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.
- I desire to do your will, my God;
your law is within my heart. - All my longings lie open before you, Lord;
my sighing is not hidden from you. - You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.
- In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
- Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
- Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.
- Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
- So is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. - If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
- “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
- For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
- Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
- I made a covenant with my eyes
not to look lustfully at a young woman. - What a person desires is unfailing love;
better to be poor than a liar. - The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
- Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.
- For, “Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.” - My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise. - You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.Next verse!With image
