Do (3/4)

  • And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
  • And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.”
  • Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
  • Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
  • So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
  • And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
  • And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
  • Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
  • Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
  • For the customs of the peoples are vanity.
    A tree from the forest is cut down
    and worked with an axe by the hands of a craftsman.
    They decorate it with silver and gold;
    they fasten it with hammer and nails
    so that it cannot move.
    Their idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field,
    and they cannot speak;
    they have to be carried,
    for they cannot walk.
    Do not be afraid of them,
    for they cannot do evil,
    neither is it in them to do good.
  • Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
  • In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;
    let me never be put to shame;
    in your righteousness deliver me!
  • Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up your hand;
    forget not the afflicted.
  • And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
  • Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.
  • If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.
  • Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves;
    therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty.
  • It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
  • Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?
  • Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.
  • Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
  • Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
  • But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
  • Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
  • Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?

Do not forsake your friend and your father's friend,
and do not go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity.
Better is a neighbor who is near
than a brother who is far away.
