- “Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you? Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)
- My son, obey your father’s commands,
and don’t neglect your mother’s instruction. - Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you!
- Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”
- But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.

‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’ - When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.”
- So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
- Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me.
Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me. - Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!
- So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
- But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.”
- So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it! For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes.
- Don’t trap yourself by making a rash promise to God
and only later counting the cost. - Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all.
- So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
