- I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

and receives favor from the Lord. - The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. - For he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things. - Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor. - You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you. - For, “Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.” - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to act. - The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

that you may live.
Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you,
just as you say he is. - A good name is more desirable than great riches;
to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. - A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—
and how good is a timely word! - How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.

for you are my God;
may your good Spirit
lead me on level ground. - But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”

For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
