- Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.
- Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - This Jesus is
‘the stone that was rejected by you, the builders;
it has become the cornerstone.’ - And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
- But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I shall come out like gold.
My foot has held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have not turned aside. - And now I am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one thing has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you; all have come to pass for you, not one of them has failed.
- So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
- You may say to yourself, “How can we recognize a word that the Lord has not spoken?” If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be frightened by it.
- The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free. - The spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me;
he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed,
to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and release to the prisoners. - And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.
- Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
- Only fear the Lord, and serve him faithfully with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you.
- Who has performed and done this,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, am first,
and will be with the last. - Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.
- You must diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his decrees, and his statutes that he has commanded you.
- Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but must endure God's wrath.
- For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
- For he has graciously granted you the privilege not only of believing in Christ, but of suffering for him as well.
- And saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.”
- How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
- And let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer's heart shall flow rivers of living water.’
- Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
- Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! - When you make a vow to God, do not delay fulfilling it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill what you vow.
