- If we claim that we have fellowship with him
while we continue to live in darkness,
we are lying and do not live in the truth. - You shall be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy. I have chosen you from among all people that you shall be mine.
- And if we know that he hears us
in regard to whatever we ask him,
we may be sure
that all we ask of him will be ours. - This is the commandment
we have received from him:
whoever loves God
must also love his brother. - I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have life. - I have made a covenant with my eyes
not to look with desire upon a virgin. - What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
- As long as the goodwill is present, the gift will be acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
- Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full.
- You have given me the shield of your salvation;
your right hand sustains me,
and your goodness makes me great.
You broadened the path beneath me
so that my feet have never stumbled. - And thus we can have confidence in him
that if we ask anything
that is in accordance with his will,
he hears us. - Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. - And eternal life is this:
to know you,
the only true God,
and the one you have sent,
Jesus Christ. - But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

- Dear children,
you are from God
and you have conquered them,
for the one who is in you is greater
than the one who is in the world. - Therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us labor for the good of all, but especially for those members of the household of the faith.
- Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
- However, now that you have been freed from sin and bound to the service of God, the benefit you receive is sanctification, and the end is eternal life.
- In Christ
and through his blood
we have redemption
and the forgiveness of our sins.
In accord with the riches of his grace.
