- These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
- Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
- I have chosen the way of truth:
thy judgments have I laid before me. - We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments.
- I have taught thee in the way of wisdom;
I have led thee in right paths. - Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
- Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
- The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
- I have blotted out, as a thick cloud,
thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:
return unto me;
for I have redeemed thee. - Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;
I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. - For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
- For thou, O God, hast proved us:
thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. - If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
- And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
- For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
- This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
- I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
- Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
- Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
- He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
- Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
- Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
- Great peace have they which love thy law:
and nothing shall offend them. - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law.He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding:
but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
