- And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
- Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. - Let my mouth be filled with thy praise
and with thy honour all the day. - For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
- And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
- Lead me in thy truth, and teach me:
for thou art the God of my salvation;
on thee do I wait all the day. - All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
- Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
- And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
- All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
- Let all your things be done with charity.
- Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

to all that call upon him in truth. - What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
