Bible Verses about 'I want you'
- The powerful suffer want and go hungry,
but those who seek the Lord want for no good thing. - All I want is to come to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share in his sufferings by becoming conformed to his death.
- You need to be steadfast if you want to do the will of God and receive what he has promised.
- You want something that you cannot have, so you commit murder. And you covet something but cannot obtain it, so you engage in quarrels and fights. You do not have because you do not ask.
- And now, brethren, I want to remind you of the gospel I proclaimed to you, which you received and in which you stand firm. Through it you are also being saved, provided that you are holding fast to what I proclaimed to you. If not, then you have believed in vain.
- I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love so that they may grow rich in their complete understanding as they come to the knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ.
- For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want.
- Indeed, persecution will afflict all who want to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus.
- However, those who want riches fall into temptations and are trapped into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
- Prepare in advance what you want to say,
and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Take away all guilt
and give us what is good,
so that we may present as offerings
the bullocks from our stalls.” - Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
- The Lord is my shepherd;
there is nothing I shall lack.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me to tranquil streams. - Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.
- In everything, deal with others as you would like them to deal with you. This is the Law and the Prophets.
- Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right?
- I will not leave you orphans;
I will come to you. - If you abide in me
and my words abide in you,
you may ask for whatever you wish,
and it will be done for you. - Father, allow those you have given me
to be with me where I am,
so that they may behold my glory,
which you have bestowed on me
because you loved me
before the foundation of the world. - For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
- I will instruct you
and guide you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you
and keep my eyes upon you. - You are from your father, the devil,
and you choose to carry out your father’s desires.
He was a murderer from the beginning,
and he does not abide by the truth,
for there is no truth in him.
When he lies,
he speaks in accord with his own nature,
for he is a liar
and the father of lies. - Even when you reach old age
I will still be the same.
Even when your hair is gray,
I will still carry you.
I have made you and I will uphold you;
I will carry you and save you. - No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.
- When I am terrified,
I place my trust in you. - I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Repent and live!
- Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and give you help,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. - I give you a new commandment:
love one another.
Just as I have loved you,
so you should also love one another. - Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth:
it is better for you that I depart.
For if I do not go away,
the Advocate will not come to you,
whereas if I go,
I will send him to you. - I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - I do not say this because I have been in need, for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
- Therefore, I say to you: ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
- Those of you who seek to be justified by the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from grace.
- Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?”
- You have already been cleansed
by the word I have spoken to you. - For I, the Lord, am your God
and I grasp your right hand.
It is I who say to you,
Do not fear; I will help you. - You did not choose me.
Rather, I chose you.
And I appointed you
to go out and bear fruit,
fruit that will remain,
so that the Father may give you
whatever you ask him in my name. - But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives
do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled;
be not afraid. - When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
nor will the waters engulf you.
When you walk through fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not consume you. - I also ask that the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing. They should be adorned not with braided hair or with gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is fitting for women who profess their reverence for God.
- So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
- You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you.
- Whom do I have in heaven except you?
And besides you there is nothing else I desire on earth. - O Lord, you have examined me
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I stand;
you perceive my thoughts from a distance. - If you would seriously consider my reproof,
I would pour out my thoughts to you
and make my precepts known to you. - Rather, let justice flow like a river,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - You shall be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy. I have chosen you from among all people that you shall be mine.
- The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will permit you to find him, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
- But to those of you who are listening to me, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
- A fool takes no pleasure in understanding
but only delights in expressing his own opinions.
