- But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.

- Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child so the Lord your God disciplines you.

who do his commands;

perhaps you may be hidden
on the day of the Lord's wrath. - And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.
- Those who are wise understand these things;
those who are discerning know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right,
and the upright walk in them,
but transgressors stumble in them. - When the Lord your God has blessed you, as he promised you, you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow; you will rule over many nations, but they will not rule over you.
- The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us.
- So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.
- The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.
- When they bring you to trial and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say; but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
- And live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
- If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one.
- The rich rules over the poor,
and the borrower is the slave of the lender. - For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin.
- As they came from their mother's womb, so they shall go again, naked as they came; they shall take nothing for their toil, which they may carry away with their hands.
- They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them.
- He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.
