- Let everything that breathes
offer praise to the Lord.
Alleluia. - Everything that you do should be done in love.
- For everything there is a season,
and a time for every activity under heaven. - His divine power has bestowed on us everything that is necessary for life and for devotion through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue.
- The heavens were made by the word of the Lord,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth. - Entrust everything that you do to the Lord,
and your plans will turn out to be successful. - He has made everything suitable for its time, and he has given men a sense of past and future, but they never have the slightest comprehension of what God has wrought from beginning to end.
- Do not let this book of the law be absent from your mouth; meditate upon it day and night, so that you might carefully observe everything that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that weighs us down and the sins that so easily distract us and with perseverance run the race that lies ahead of us.
- But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Your almsgiving must be done in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
- Test everything, and hold fast to what is good. Avoid every form of evil.
- How great you are, Lord God! There is no one like you, and there is no God except you alone, as everything that we have heard confirms.
- But who am I, and what are your people,
that we should be able to do this?
All things belong to you,
and everything that we have given you is from your hand. - However, God has revealed these things to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit explores everything, even the depths of God.
- For everything that is in the world—
the concupiscence of the flesh,
the concupiscence of the eyes,
and the pride of life—
comes not from the Father
but from the world. - For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that by perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we may continue to have hope.
- Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
- But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
- Beloved, I pray that everything is going well with you and that your bodily health is equal to that of your soul.
- However, the Advocate, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in my name,
will teach you everything
and remind you of all
that I have said to you. - In everything, deal with others as you would like them to deal with you. This is the Law and the Prophets.
- Instruct those who are rich in this world’s goods that they should not be proud, nor should they trust in the uncertainty of riches but rather in God who richly provides us with everything we need for our enjoyment.
- And whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both.
- As sorrowful, and yet we are always rejoicing; as poor, and yet we make many rich; as having nothing, and yet we possess everything.
- The kingdom of heaven is like treasure buried in a field, which a man found and buried again. Then in his joy he went off and sold everything he had and bought that field.
- Whatever moves and has life will be used for your food. I give you all these things, just as I have already given you every green plant. Only do not eat flesh along with its life, that is, with its blood.
- The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,
the world and all who live in it. - But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that the fact that you are fasting will not be obvious to others but only to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
- Enriched in every way, you will be able to practice all your acts of generosity, which, through our intervention, will result in thanksgiving to God.
- The entire community of believers was united in heart and soul. No one claimed any of his possessions as his own, for everything was held in common.
- Just as you do not know the path of the wind
or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb,
so you do not know the work of God,
the Creator of all. - This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us exult and rejoice in it. - For the word of the Lord is true,
and he is faithful in everything he does. - This is
‘the stone rejected by you, the builders,
that has become the cornerstone.’ - The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and merciful in everything he does. - He is the head of the body,
that is, the Church.
He is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead,
so that in every way
he should be supreme. - Rejoice always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
- And so you should put to death everything in your nature that is earthly: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desires, and greed (which is idolatry).
- Therefore, rid yourselves of everything sordid and of every wicked excess, and welcome in all humility the word that is implanted in you and is able to save your souls.
- Do not worry about anything, but present your needs to God in prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. Then the peace of God, which is beyond all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
- Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.
- Trust wholeheartedly in the Lord
rather than relying on your own intelligence.
In everything you do, acknowledge him,
and he will see that your paths are straight. - However, the one who looks intently at the perfect law of freedom and perseveres—not forgetting what he has heard but putting it into practice—will be blessed in everything he does.
- And God is able to enrich you with an abundance of every grace, so that, with all of your needs provided for, you may be able to produce a surplus of good works.
- He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him?
- Like a city that has been breached and made defenseless
is the man devoid of self-control. - Exhort slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give them satisfaction in every respect. They are not to talk back to them, nor are they to steal from them. Rather, they should show themselves to be completely trustworthy so that in every way they may add luster to the doctrine of God our Savior.
- You can eat any water creature that has fins and scales; those you can eat. Whatever does not have fins or scales, you are not to eat. It is unclean for you.
- Yours, O Lord, are greatness,
power, glory, strength, and majesty,
for everything in heaven and on earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
