- For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth! - Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
O Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleas for mercy! - On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”
- Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
- Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
- Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord! - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
- Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
- Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
- He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber. - Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.
- This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it. - Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
- Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!
Let your good Spirit lead me
on level ground! - Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.
- Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
- My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
- Make your face shine on your servant;
save me in your steadfast love! - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
- Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you. Be careful what you do, for there is no injustice with the Lord our God, or partiality or taking bribes.
- Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.
