Let (2/4)

  • Let us remain firm in the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.
  • Let those who are wise understand these words,
    and let the prudent acknowledge them.
    For straight are the ways of the Lord;
    the upright walk in them,
    but sinners stumble.
  • Beloved,
    let us love one another,
    because love is from God.
    Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
  • And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it was for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful.
  • Everything that you do should be done in love.
  • Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord;
    O Lord, hear my voice.
    Let your ears be attentive
    to my cries of supplication.
  • Let us then make every effort to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall by following that example of refusing to believe.
  • On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried out,
    “If anyone is thirsty,
    let him come to me and drink.”
  • And God said, “Let us make man in our image and likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the wild animals and reptiles that crawl upon the earth.”
  • Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.
  • Let no foul word ever pass your lips. Say only what is useful for edification, so that your words may benefit your listeners.
  • Let marriage be held in honor by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for those who are immoral and adulterers will have to face God’s judgment.
  • My son, concentrate attentively on my words;
    pay heed to the instructions I pass on to you.
    Do not let them slip from your mind;
    keep them forever in your heart.
  • Restore us, O Lord of hosts;
    let your face shine upon us,
    and we will be saved.
  • Let no one regard you with contempt because of your youth, but serve as an example to the believers in your speech and conduct, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
  • Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace when we are in need of help.
  • Let no one delude himself. If anyone among you considers himself to be wise by worldly standards, he must become a fool in order to be truly wise.
  • Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart
    find favor in your sight,
    O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
  • Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that weighs us down and the sins that so easily distract us and with perseverance run the race that lies ahead of us.
  • Let my teaching fall down like rain,
    and my words descend like the dew.
    Like rain upon the sprouts,
    and like showers upon the grass.
  • But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them. For it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”
  • For:
    “If anyone wishes to love life
    and to experience good days,
    he must restrain his tongue from evil
    and his lips from deceitful speech.
    He must turn away from evil and do good,
    seek peace and pursue it.”
  • If anyone would boast, let him boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is really approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
  • At dawn let me experience your kindness,
    for in you I place my trust.
    Show me the path I must walk,
    for to you I lift up my soul.
  • Therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us labor for the good of all, but especially for those members of the household of the faith.

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from anything that can defile flesh or spirit, and thereby make our holiness perfect in the fear of God.
