| And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. | You shall be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy. I have chosen you from among all people that you shall be mine. |
| Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. | Bring the tithes in full into the treasury so that there may be food in my house. Put me thus to the test, says the Lord of hosts, and see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down blessings upon you without measure. |

| O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. | O Lord, you are my God. | I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God. | I, the Lord, am your God. You must obey my laws and be careful to observe my ordinances. Keep holy my Sabbaths as a sign between me and you so that you will know that I am the Lord, your God. |
| And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you. | May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you. |
| A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. | I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you should also love one another. |
| And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. | Even when you reach old age I will still be the same. Even when your hair is gray, I will still carry you. I have made you and I will uphold you; I will carry you and save you. |
| For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. | For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. |
| Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. | Place your hope in the Lord: be strong and courageous in your heart, and place your hope in the Lord. |
| Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. | Now this Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. |
| In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. | In my anguish I cried out to the Lord and called to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears. |
| And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. | I intend to prove the holiness of my great name which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. Thus, the nations will know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when through you I will display my holiness in their sight. |
| And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. | Do not be afraid or dismayed, the Lord will go before you; he will not fail or forsake you. |
| A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. | I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you. I will remove from your body a heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh in its place. |
| According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. | His divine power has bestowed on us everything that is necessary for life and for devotion through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue. |
| For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us. | For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver. The Lord is our king; he is the one who will save us. |
| And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house. | I did not hesitate to tell you what was for your benefit as I proclaimed the word to you and taught you publicly as well as from house to house. |
| For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. | For I will provide the weary with all they need, and I will restore the strength of all those who have grown faint with hunger. |
| Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. | “Peace be with you,” Jesus said to them again. “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” |
| That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. | In that way, I can come to you in joy, if God so wills, and be refreshed together with you. |
