- For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love.
- God is not a human being, that he should lie,
or a mortal, that he should change his mind.
Has he promised, and will he not do it?
Has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? - You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy;
in your right hand are pleasures forevermore. - Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, make you complete in everything good so that you may do his will, working among us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
- But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to make this freewill offering? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
- Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.
- May he grant you your heart's desire,
and fulfill all your plans. - I hurry and do not delay
to keep your commandments. - See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all.
- When your eyes light upon it, it is gone;
for suddenly it takes wings to itself,
flying like an eagle toward heaven. - If you refrain from trampling the sabbath,
from pursuing your own interests on my holy day;
if you call the sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
serving your own interests, or pursuing your own affairs;
then you shall take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth;
I will feed you with the heritage of your ancestor Jacob,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
- But I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.
- Keep straight the path of your feet,
and all your ways will be sure. - No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.
- It is you who light my lamp;
the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. - And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.
- His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’
- Many shall be purified, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked shall continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
- And the Lord God made garments of skins for the man and for his wife, and clothed them.
- Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace. With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
- Let your word be ‘Yes, Yes’ or ‘No, No’; anything more than this comes from the evil one.
- Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart to revere your name. - For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.
- Be careful then how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil.
Pursue peace with everyone, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.Since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; they are now justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.Next verse!With image
