- Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

- A person may think their own ways are right,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
- Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
- May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands. - And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
- Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
- Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise.
- Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
