- But surely, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life. - “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.” - But you, O Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. - My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.
- For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. - When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul. - You are indeed my rock and my fortress;
for your name's sake lead me and guide me. - I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - I cried aloud to him,
and he was extolled with my tongue. - Hear, my child, and accept my words,
that the years of your life may be many. - Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my help and my God. - I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah - If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
- Your decrees are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart. - O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. - My times are in your hand;
deliver me from the hand of my enemies and persecutors. - But as for me, I will look to the Lord,
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
my God will hear me. - Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness;
answer me in your righteousness. - God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
and makes me tread upon the heights. - My child, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - My child, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments;
for length of days and years of life
and abundant welfare they will give you. - My lips will shout for joy
when I sing praises to you;
my soul also, which you have rescued. - You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.” - Jesus said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.”
O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I plead my case to you, and watch.Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?
