Chinese (traditional)- Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
- Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
- But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
- I will hasten and not delay
to obey your commands. - You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.
- When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze. - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
- I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
- You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
- Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
- For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
- “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.
- Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
- An honest witness does not deceive,
but a false witness pours out lies. - The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
- For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
- He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
- Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.”
- Do not wear yourself out to get rich;
do not trust your own cleverness. - What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!
- Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God.
Do not forget the helpless. - But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
- Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.My times are in your hands;
deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me.
