- Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

What can mere mortals do to me? - “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord. - So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.
- Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
- “If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the Lord Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me.”

- Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain. - Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom. - Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
- All my longings lie open before you, Lord;
my sighing is not hidden from you. - The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
- Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
- Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old they will not turn from it. - I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. - Of all the creatures living in the water, you may eat any that has fins and scales. But anything that does not have fins and scales you may not eat; for you it is unclean.
- Blessed is the one whom God corrects;
so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. - Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.
- God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
- My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
