Bible Verses about 'Psalm 121'
- I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber. - The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore. - Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain. - Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
who walks in his ways! - Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
O Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleas for mercy! - I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope. - Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity! - The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands. - O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar. - Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. - Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! - For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well. - Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting! - Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness! - I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah - Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!
Let your good Spirit lead me
on level ground! - I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever. - Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and his greatness is unsearchable. - The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and kind in all his works. - The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth. - The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous. - The Lord watches over the sojourners;
he upholds the widow and the fatherless,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. - He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds. - For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with salvation. - Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! - Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers. - But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head. - Salvation belongs to the Lord;
your blessing be on your people! Selah - In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. - O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. - For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover him with favor as with a shield. - What is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him? - I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. - I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. - The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble. - And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. - Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up your hand;
forget not the afflicted. - But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me. - He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
and speaks truth in his heart;
who does not slander with his tongue
and does no evil to his neighbor,
nor takes up a reproach against his friend. - Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. - You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. - I love you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - In my distress I called upon the Lord;
to my God I cried for help.
From his temple he heard my voice,
and my cry to him reached his ears. - With the merciful you show yourself merciful;
with the blameless man you show yourself blameless. - For it is you who light my lamp;
the Lord my God lightens my darkness.
