- Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
- I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope. - Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.
- No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
- Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning,
for in you I put my trust.
Teach me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.
- In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I am not afraid;
what can flesh do to me? - But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may be seen not by others but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
- Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your doings
from before my eyes;
cease to do evil. - Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord. - Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my help and my God. - His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’
- Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - For you, O God, have tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried. - Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered. - If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, and give heed to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will not bring upon you any of the diseases that I brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.
- Trust in the Lord, and do good;
so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. - But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
- Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- Finally, brothers and sisters, farewell. Put things in order, listen to my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
- Do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
- Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all day long. - Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your masters, since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ.
- Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
