Chinese (traditional)- For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
- And rend your heart,
and not your garments,
and turn unto the Lord your God:
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and of great kindness,
and repenteth him of the evil. - Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts:
and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him;
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ.
- A man's heart deviseth his way:
but the Lord directeth his steps. - Blessed are the peacemakers:
for they shall be called the children of God. - For he satisfieth the longing soul,
and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. - For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.
- Lord, all my desire is before thee;
and my groaning is not hid from thee. - Open thy mouth, judge righteously,
and plead the cause of the poor and needy. - Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
- Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
- Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?
by taking heed thereto according to thy word. - Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
- I will be glad and rejoice in thee:
I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. - Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
- Honour the Lord with thy substance,
and with the firstfruits of all thine increase. - And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
- For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
- He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law,
even his prayer shall be abomination. - Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment,
and equity; yea, every good path. - I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. - Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
- And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
- He that walketh uprightly walketh surely:
but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope.
