Chinese (traditional)- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
- Without counsel purposes are disappointed:
but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
- While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
- Pleasant words are as an honeycomb,
sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. - O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name:
make known his deeds among the people. - Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
- So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. - A fool hath no delight in understanding,
but that his heart may discover itself. - But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
- Let the words of my mouth,
and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight,
O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. - Deliver my soul, O Lord,
from lying lips,
and from a deceitful tongue. - A fool's lips enter into contention,
and his mouth calleth for strokes. - An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:
but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. - In all labour there is profit:
but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. - Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop:
but a good word maketh it glad. - If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
- For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
- And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:
but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. - It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling. - And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
- When I kept silence, my bones waxed old
through my roaring all the day long. - The tongue of the just is as choice silver:
the heart of the wicked is little worth. - Put away from thee a froward mouth,
and perverse lips put far from thee.
For there is not a word in my tongue,
but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.
