| But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. | But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” |

| Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. | Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. |
| Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. | Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. |

| But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. | But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments. |
| Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this. | Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. |
| There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. | No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. |
| So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off. | Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off. |

| But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints. | But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. |
| Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. | Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. |
| And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. | And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. | Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. | For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. |
| And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent. | The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. |
| Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. | Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” |
| The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke. | The ransom of a man's life is his wealth, but a poor man hears no threat. |
| What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? | What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
| Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. | Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. |
| Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. | Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. |
