- But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
- Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!
- Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, there will be a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
- Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
- May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus.
- Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
- Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
- Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
- Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
- Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. - But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
- When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit. - Open your mouth for the mute,
for the rights of all who are destitute. - Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
- For the righteous will never be moved;
he will be remembered forever. - The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
- Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
- The ransom of a man's life is his wealth,
but a poor man hears no threat. - What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
- But the steadfast love of the Lord is
from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children's children,
to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments. - No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
- Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.
And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
