- Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of injustice,
to undo the thongs of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke? - Just as you do not know how the breath comes to the bones in the mother's womb, so you do not know the work of God, who makes everything.
- For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God.
- Looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
- The spirit of the Lord God is upon me,

- For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our ruler,
the Lord is our king; he will save us. - Happy are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord. - Meanwhile the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and was built up. Living in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
- Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - For what the flesh desires is opposed to the Spirit, and what the Spirit desires is opposed to the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you want.
