- Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Every good thing I have comes from you.” - You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.
- Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
- Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
- But you, O Lord, are a shield around me;
you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. - For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
- There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.
- You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.
- But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.

There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. - For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.
- For you are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory. - For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven. - You are my rock and my fortress.
For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger. - There is a path before each person that seems right,
but it ends in death. - There are “friends” who destroy each other,
but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. - Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.
- So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
- Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
- O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. - When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
- Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you. - For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.
- Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.
- If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.
- For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
- You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.
- God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.
- For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
- In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.
- Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to me.
You are honored, and I love you. - Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God.
May your gracious Spirit lead me forward
on a firm footing. - Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
- There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
- Hear my prayer, O Lord;
listen to my plea!
Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. - God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
