- And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
- When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
- Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!
- When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with the humble is wisdom. - O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar. - You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
- My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God? - When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you. - When I thought, “My foot slips,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. - Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it. - For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long. - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it. - Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity! - My lips will shout for joy,
when I sing praises to you;
my soul also, which you have redeemed. - When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul. - I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous rules. - But when they had grazed, they became full,
they were filled, and their heart was lifted up;
therefore they forgot me. - Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise;
when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent. - When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.
- But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”
- Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
- Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
- For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night. - And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
When he realizes his guilt in any of these and confesses the sin he has committed, he shall bring to the Lord as his compensation for the sin that he has committed.Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper,
but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.Next verse!With image
