| But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. | But those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life. |

| But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? | How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help? |
| For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. | Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you. |
| He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. | Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm. |
| He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die. | Those who keep the commandment will live; those who are heedless of their ways will die. |
| Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein. | Those who are wise understand these things; those who are discerning know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them. |
| And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. | Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. |
| He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. | Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in them. |
| And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. | And whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me. |
| Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. | Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others; for in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things. |
| He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. | Those who believe in him are not condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God. |

| He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. | And let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer's heart shall flow rivers of living water.’ |
| And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. | And the world and its desire are passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever. |
