The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. |

This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” |

And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. | God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. |
| And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. | After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. |
| But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. | But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. |
| Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. | And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment. |
