- I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.

- So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.

and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross. - Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
- If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.
- Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry,
but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing. - So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.
- Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
- We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty;
but even though he is just and righteous,

- He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!”
Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! - For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
- How great you are, O Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!
- Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
- But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.
- Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
- My child, if your heart is wise,
my own heart will rejoice! - For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
- No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit.
- O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. - So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
- So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.
