- And do not lead us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one. - And the Word became flesh

God is love,
and whoever abides in love

- By these he has given us his precious promises, great beyond all price, so that through them you may escape from the corruption with which evil desires have infected the world and thereby may come to share in the divine nature.
- For everything there is a season,
and a time for every activity under heaven. - Give us this day our daily bread.
- For who is God except the Lord?
Who is a rock aside from our God? - Let us remain firm in the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.
- Such hope will not be doomed to disappointment, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
- The heavens proclaim the glory of God;
the firmament shows forth the work of his hands.
One day imparts that message to the next,
and night conveys that knowledge to night. - We also know
that the Son of God has come
and given us understanding
so that we can know the one who is true.
And we are in the one who is true,
since we are in his Son Jesus Christ.
He is the true God and eternal life. - And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. - Come forth! Let us bow down to worship him;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker. - Some friends can lead us to ruin,
but a true friend is closer than a brother. - See what love
the Father has bestowed on us,
enabling us to be called the children of God,
and that is what we are.
If the world does not recognize us,
that is because it did not know him. - Observe your father’s command, my son,
and do not reject your mother’s teaching. - For so has the Lord commanded us to do, saying,
‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles
so that you may bring salvation
to the farthest corners of the earth.’ - O Lord, let your kindness rest upon us,
for we have placed our hope in you. - Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.
- Therefore, we love because he first loved us.
- Each of us must consider his neighbor’s good for the purpose of building him up.
- And as we gaze upon the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, all of us are being transformed into that same image from glory to glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
- For it has been granted you not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him.
