Power (2/3)

  • For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.
  • He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
  • That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love.
  • He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
  • But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
  • Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
  • And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil.
  • “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
  • But I will sing of your strength;
    I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
    For you have been to me a fortress
    and a refuge in the day of my distress.
  • And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,
    “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
    be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
  • To you, O God of my fathers,
    I give thanks and praise,
    for you have given me wisdom and might,
    and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
    for you have made known to us the king's matter.
  • Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
  • Better is the little that the righteous has
    than the abundance of many wicked.
    For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
    but the Lord upholds the righteous.
  • Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
  • There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
  • For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
  • Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.
  • My times are in your hand;
    rescue me from the hand of my enemies
    and from my persecutors!
  • The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
  • For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
  • O you who love the Lord, hate evil!
    He preserves the lives of his saints;
    he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
  • Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
  • Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
  • There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
  • But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.

But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God.”
