And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.And when you are praying, do not use thoughtless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.

A fool’s lips enter into contention, And his mouth calls for blows.A fool’s lips bring strife, And his mouth invites beatings.
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.Anxiety in a person’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.And when they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you at that time; for you are not the ones speaking, but it is the Holy Spirit.
It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel.Avoiding strife is an honor for a person, But any fool will quarrel.
But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine.But as for you, proclaim the things which are fitting for sound doctrine.

Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.Rid yourself of a deceitful mouth And keep devious speech far from you.
But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.But make sure your statement is, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil origin.
Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.Open your mouth, judge righteously, And defend the rights of the poor and needy.
