- In my Father’s house
there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you
that I am going to prepare a place for you? - But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that the fact that you are fasting will not be obvious to others but only to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
- Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
- Therefore, strive to be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.
- Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Thus you could understand that the Lord, your God, was disciplining you, just like a father disciplines his son.
- He has rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
- If you know me,
then you will know my Father also.
From now on you do know him.
You have seen him. - This is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.’ - And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another Advocate
to be with you forever. - And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too.
- Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.
- If anyone wishes to serve me,
he must follow me.
Where I am,
there also will my servant be.
If anyone serves me,
my Father will honor that person. - Whoever denies the Son
does not have the Father,
but whoever acknowledges the Son
has the Father also. - For everything that is in the world—
the concupiscence of the flesh,
the concupiscence of the eyes,
and the pride of life—
comes not from the Father
but from the world. - To anyone who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself overcame and sat with my Father on his throne.
- By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit
and become my disciples. - But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
- I came from the Father
and have come into the world.
Now I am leaving the world
and returning to the Father. - “Peace be with you,” Jesus said to them again.
“As the Father has sent me,
so I send you.” - Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. - Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my heavenly Father.
- Anyone who is victorious will be dressed like these in white robes, and I shall not blot his name from the book of life. Rather, I shall acknowledge it in the presence of my Father and his angels.
- Let what you heard from the beginning
remain in you.
If what you heard from the beginning
remains in you,
then you will remain in the Son
and in the Father. - However, the Advocate, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in my name,
will teach you everything
and remind you of all
that I have said to you.
