Chinese (traditional)“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name. But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them. Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise. So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. It is honorable to refrain from strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died through the one man's trespass, much more surely have the grace of God and the free gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the many. Do not adorn yourselves outwardly by braiding your hair, and by wearing gold ornaments or fine clothing; rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God's sight. All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. When pride comes, then comes disgrace;
but wisdom is with the humble. So we have known and believe the love that God has for us.
God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed from the housetops. A fool's lips bring strife,
and a fool's mouth invites a flogging. A gift opens doors;
it gives access to the great. For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life? Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are. For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling. I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’ Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. By faith he received power of procreation, even though he was too old—and Sarah herself was barren—because he considered him faithful who had promised. For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. By insolence the heedless make strife,
but wisdom is with those who take advice. Though the fig tree does not blossom,
and no fruit is on the vines;
though the produce of the olive fails
and the fields yield no food;
though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will exult in the God of my salvation. For what the flesh desires is opposed to the Spirit, and what the Spirit desires is opposed to the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you want. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but must endure God's wrath. He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else? Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my help and my God.Next verse!With image
