Chinese (traditional)I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers,
who hast given me wisdom and might,
and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee:
for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter. He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life:
but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry. The wicked worketh a deceitful work:
but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. A fool hath no delight in understanding,
but that his heart may discover itself. Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
who walk in the law of the Lord. Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. But let judgment run down as waters,
and righteousness as a mighty stream. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?
by taking heed thereto according to thy word. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted. Who is a God like unto thee,
that pardoneth iniquity,
and passeth by the transgression
of the remnant of his heritage?
he retaineth not his anger for ever,
because he delighteth in mercy. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness:
for they shall be filled. Before destruction the heart of man is haughty,
and before honour is humility. Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Truly my soul waiteth upon God:
from him cometh my salvation. And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth. And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good;
for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name:
make known his deeds among the people. Who is this King of glory?
