Chinese (traditional)Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. Do not envy the violent
or choose any of their ways.
For the Lord detests the perverse
but takes the upright into his confidence. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Whoever pursues righteousness and love
finds life, prosperity and honor. When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone. Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord. Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned. A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? For this is what the high and exalted One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
“I live in a high and holy place,
but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite.” Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans. Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight. As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. This is what the Lord says:
“Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.
But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’” Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.Next verse!With image
