Chinese (traditional)Authority will be granted to the diligent,
but the lazy will be enslaved. Do not repay evil with evil or abuse with abuse. On the contrary, repay with a blessing. This is what you were called to do, so that you might inherit a blessing. Godliness produces great gain, but only to those who are content. The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart places its trust in him.
He has helped me, and I exult;
then with my song I praise him. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised, as he promised he would be. Come and see the place where he lay.” Although it was our afflictions that he bore,
our sufferings that he endured,
we thought of him as stricken,
as struck down by God and afflicted. When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. A gift opens doors for the giver
and wins him access to the powerful. Finally, all of you should be united in spirit, sympathetic, filled with love for one another, compassionate, and humble. This is how we know what love is:
he laid down his life for us,
and we in turn must be prepared
to lay down our lives for our brethren. Blessed are those who observe his statutes
and seek him with their whole heart. I have told you this
so that in me you may be in peace.
In the world
you will endure suffering.
But take courage!
I have overcome the world. Beloved, I pray that everything is going well with you and that your bodily health is equal to that of your soul. Have mercy on me, O God,
in accord with your kindness;
in your abundant compassion
wipe away my offenses.
Wash me completely from my guilt,
and cleanse me from my sin. Seek the Lord and his strength,
seek his face continually. And whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Why are you so disheartened, O my soul?
Why do you sigh within me?
Place your hope in God;
for I will once again praise him,
my Savior and my God. If someone among you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without finding fault, and it will be given to him. He answered, “Because you have such little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith as tiny as a mustard seed, you will be able to say to this mountain: ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Bless the Lord, O my soul;
my entire being, bless his holy name. Let no one delude himself. If anyone among you considers himself to be wise by worldly standards, he must become a fool in order to be truly wise. If it seems wrong to you to serve the Lord, then today you must choose whom you will serve, whether it be the gods that your fathers served on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites who dwell in the land. As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Every word of God has proved to be true;
he is a shield to those who trust in him. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in uprightness, so that the man of God may be proficient and equipped for good work of every kind. May the Lord guide your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ. O God, you are my God,
for whom I have been searching earnestly.
My soul yearns for you
and my body thirsts for you,
like the earth when it is parched,
arid and without water. Do not seek to adorn yourself externally—by the braiding of your hair and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothing. Rather, let your adornment be of your inner self, the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. The Lord will battle for you. Be calm! Let everything that breathes
offer praise to the Lord.
Alleluia. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you. But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it with patience. Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.Next verse!With image
