Chinese (traditional)So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this! For the Scriptures say,
“If you want to enjoy life
and see many happy days,
keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies.
Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.” For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. My child, if your heart is wise,
my own heart will rejoice! For the Lord gave us this command when he said,
‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles,
to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’ I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. A fool is quick-tempered,
but a wise person stays calm when insulted. For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. To acquire wisdom is to love yourself;
people who cherish understanding will prosper. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing. For I cried out to him for help,
praising him as I spoke. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Now may the God of peace—
who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus,
the great Shepherd of the sheep,
and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—
may he equip you with all you need
for doing his will.
May he produce in you,
through the power of Jesus Christ,
every good thing that is pleasing to him.
All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before! Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God.
May your gracious Spirit lead me forward
on a firm footing. But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say,
‘People do not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. You can make many plans,
but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him. But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me. So be strong and courageous,
all you who put your hope in the Lord! And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.Next verse! With image
