Chinese (traditional)Whatever you ask in my name I will do,
so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male slave, nor his female slave, nor his oxen, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor. I understand that man’s greatest happiness is to be glad and do well throughout his life. And when we eat and drink and find satisfaction in all our labors, this is a gift of God. If you, then, despite your evil nature, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill them. A wise man will heed commandments,
but a babbling fool will come to grief. Produce good fruit as proof of your repentance. For the Son of Man has come to seek out and to save what was lost. You created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am wonderfully made;
awesome are your works,
as I know very well. Jesus answered, “As it is written:
‘Man does not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.’ ” And whoever does not provide for relatives, especially for those who are living with him, has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. The Lord redeems the lives of those who serve him;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him. Rather, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Whoever believes in me,
as Scripture has said,
‘Streams of living water
shall flow from within him.’ My son, do not forget my teaching,
but cherish my commandments in your heart,
for they will bring you length of days,
more years of life, and an abundance of prosperity. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a sacrificial offering whose fragrance is pleasing to God. There is no holy one like the Lord,
there is none beside you,
nor is there a rock like our God. The one who leads a blameless life
and does what is right,
who speaks the truth from the heart
and does not slander anyone,
who does not harm a friend
and does not scorn a neighbor. For there is one God,
and there is one mediator between God and man,
Christ Jesus, himself a man. See what love
the Father has bestowed on us,
enabling us to be called the children of God,
and that is what we are.
If the world does not recognize us,
that is because it did not know him. Take delight in the Lord,
and he will grant you what your heart desires. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you waverers. Bless those who persecute you; bless them and do not curse them. Many are the plans in a human mind,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will prevail. Let no one regard you with contempt because of your youth, but serve as an example to the believers in your speech and conduct, in your love, your faith, and your purity. But if you seek the Lord, your God, and you strive with all your heart and your soul, you will find him there. Be strong and courageous in your hearts,
all you who place your hope in the Lord. Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewal of your minds, so that you will be able to discern the will of God and to know what is good and acceptable and perfect. Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.” Lying lips conceal hatred,
and anyone who slanders another is a fool. As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
